Diversity ACT
While volunteering for Diversity ACT Community Services, I completely re-invigorated their communication. With a brand style guide, templates, social media plan, refreshed website (content, structure and template) and new collateral, I positioned the organisation to grow.

Red Rattler Theatre, Sydney
I created a theatre hire info pack and a pack of event hire procedures and templates.
Michael Beahan (writer)
I edited and did the graphic design layout for a roleplaying game supplement, for both print and digital purchase.

BPD Awareness ACT
I developed a brand guide and associated templates, then edited all DBT course materials (handouts, facilitator guides and PowerPoint slides) while applying the new branding.

Work in employed positions
While the above represents my work as a sole trader, I am also particularly proud of some pieces I’ve created while employed for ACT non-profit organisations, including:
- YWCA Canberra’s 2020-21 Annual report
- Op ed on remuneration for Early Childhood Educators
- Mental Health Month ACT 2022 Supporter videos
- A new newsletter design for Capital Region Community Services’ seniors social group, like this newsletter from January 2024
- Video testimonial for early childhood services.
Testimonials
Lisa Kelly, CEO of Mental Health Community Coalition ACT:
Angel stepped into the organisation at a critical time. They provided insight, professionalism and expertise mixed with agility in meeting a wide range of needs from setting up projects, developing frameworks, maintaining communication channels, member support and ICT developments.
They are efficient and effective and deliver work of a high quality at speed. I have admired their ability to be responsive and utilise their full range of skills. They have clear communication, are able to define and work towards expectations, work with limited oversight and provide great support to the team. They have capability to think strategically to enhance the work of the organisation.
Megan, President of Diversity ACT Community Services:
Angel’s communications work for Diversity ACT Community Services was invaluable. They revamped our website, and introduced a number of innovative technologies which have improved our management processes. Our communications with members and the wider community have improved dramatically as a result.
Stephen Dunkerley, COO of Mental Health Community Coalition ACT:
I engaged Angel Hellyer in October last year, shortly after becoming COO at MHCC ACT, an NGO facing significant challenges. Angel’s deep understanding of the ACT mental health sector and their exceptional communication, promotional and program delivery skills were invaluable. They quickly assessed our needs and delivered outstanding communication strategies, program plans, and re-energised our member engagement.
Angel is action-oriented, always clear in their objectives, and consistently exceeded expectations delivering high-quality results on time. Their successful planning and delivery of a sector Alliance programme workshop showcased their expertise. Angel’s integrity, dedication and professionalism were crucial in stabilising our organisation.
I highly commend Angel as a trusted advisor, and for their exceptional services.
Natalie, Founder of BPD Awareness ACT:
It was great to use the IE module this term, the feedback was very positive. It was also helpful with the scripts.
