Just Human was published on Friday and I had my book launch yesterday! After such a long journey (over a decade between starting my first novel and now having the one published), it feels rather surreal to say that I’m a published author. But it’s out now and I’m so glad people can experience the world I’ve created.
I’ve gotten some wonderful reviews from the book tour, including this one that made me cry happy tears, as they really got the messaging I was weaving through the novel.

The launch yesterday was so lovely, despite some shocking weather. My many thanks to Zoya Patel for emceeing it!
I also had a mini-launch on Thursday at the Belconnen Youth Centre, specifically for LGBTQIA+ young people. It was an incredible experience, with great questions and feedback from many of the young people there. One in particular really touched me, as they said how much it meant to have non-binary representation, having just come out as non-binary themselves after growing up in a regional town. This was part of why I wanted to write the book this way, to give the representation that I never had growing up.
